This seminar takes the recent developments at an EU level in respect of Collective Redress mechanisms as the context for examining the development of mechanisms for resolving mass disputes in the regions of Central Europe and South East Europe. Leading speakers will discuss whether existing collective redress procedures provide sufficient or effective access to justice for a wide range of citizens, particularly but not exclusively consumers, small businesses and employees wishing to bring collective claims.
This event is organised jointly with the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH, Open Regional Fund for South East Europe - Legal Reform, and will be followed by the launch of the Giz publication, Collective Redress Mechanisms in Consumer Protection in the EU and South East Europe (2018).
