This event took place on the 26th May 2022

Co-organised by the British Institute of International and Comparative Law and Aston University Law school

Event Details

In light of the rise in high-profile collective claims, this event will consider the evolving use of collective redress proceedings to solve disputes. Convened by Aston University and the British Institute of International and Comparative Law (BIICL), the event will bring together leading practitioners, academics and stakeholders to discuss some of the complex legal and practical issues arising from such claims. The event will cover practicalities of collective claims and using collective procedures to tackle emerging contemporary legal challenges. Expert speakers will consider a range of issues including navigation of procedural and practical difficulties in collective proceedings, use of LegalTech in such proceedings, funding structures and the wider use of collective proceedings in human rights and environmental claims.

Event convened by Rhonson Salim, Aston University and Professor Eva Lein, Senior Research Fellow in Private International Law and Director, Centre for Comparative Law.
